Local Internet Search Is Dramatically Altering The game For Businesses
Looking To Market Locally Online...Here Is How We Can Help
KeepYour Business Out Front!
Just the other day I was talking with my
wife and she pointed out that she was listening to the radio and heard a very interesting
advertisement.
Here's the story...
A particular advertising agent, we'll
call her Cindy, went to a local businessman, we'll call him Jake, to offer him advertising for his business. Jake
was interested, but he responded to Cindy that he could not afford to advertise at this point because business was
down and the economy was not in good shape.
"Come back in a month when conditions
are better" he told Cindy.
So in a month Cindy
returned...
This time Jake declared, "You know
things have still not gotten any better, I can't afford to advertise with you yet, come back right after
Christmas...things usually pick up around that time, I should have some extra cash to buy some advertising from
you".
Cindy responded, "Okay" and left Jake's
place of business feeling confident that Jake would soon become her client and looking foward to helping Jake get
more customers.
So after the Christmas and New Year's
Season Cindy returned to Jake's place of business only to discover that Jake...was no longer in
business...WHY?
---HE DIDN'T
ADVERTISE!
Dear Small Business Web Advertising
Thank you so much for what you've done for my business!!
Since I started working with your company four months ago my sales have doubled compared to last
year's sales.
I have seen my site's ranking go from page 3 to number 3 on page 1 of google.
The video marketing is excellent as well and I cannot thank you enough!
Here at Small Business Web Advertising
we understand the necessity of Small Businesses needing to be able to effectively advertise at a reasonable
cost...Why? Because we are a small business.
Our Turn To The
Internet...Why We Started Small Business Web Advertising
I tried my hand at internet advertising
some years ago advertising a particular product/service in the paralegal field.
After paying for some advertising I
decided to turn to the internet to broaden our reach as well as to cut advertising cost.
The internet seemed like the perfect
place to advertise! We put our website up and waited...and waited....and waited....
The Mistake Made By Many Small Business
Owners
We made the very common mistake among
business owners of all persuasions...we assumed that buy throwing a website up on the internet prospects would beat
a path to our door....
Boy were we in for a rude
awakening.
Back To The Internet Drawing Board
I realized that potential was on the
internet with millions upon millions of people using it...so my journey begin.
I paid for some Google adwords
advertising, had a little success, and then I ran a small test non-adwords marketing campaign for a book we were
selling...we made a profit of about $3000.00....I knew that I was on to something!
So I begin to purchase Internet
Marketing Courses, Memberships etc., from some of the best internet markerters in the world--- to simply learn how
to add this powerful form of advertising to our personal marketing arsenal.
After spending thousands of
dollars and countless hours of study, and testing...which continues until this day, I decided to create a separate
company for the purposes of advertising my non-profit company.
This has evolved into offering internet
marketing/advertising to other small businesses.

So what message should small business
owners take from this research?...
"The message for local businesses is
simple:You need to be found on the
internet. The days are gone where businesses could cover most of
their market by simply advertising in the newspaper or print yellow pages, the internet needs to be considered."

Matthew Ohms :
Here is my review of this service so far... Started the Gold Package about four weeks ago, but is
not finished yet...
The site I chose to promote with this package had been sitting for some time at the middle to
bottom of page 2 in Google (15th-20th position) for my targeted keyword. I hadn't done any sort of
SEO or link building for this site in quite a while. Since I hadn't done any SEO for the site in
quite some time, and it had stalled in the Google rankings, I chose it to test.... Gold Package on
this site.
Shortly after [Keith] started the process, I saw a slight jump in rankings to the top of page two,
and a few days later it settled into the bottom of page one. It stayed there for a week or two, and
is now bouncing around between the 5th and 9th positions.
A couple of facts...
Most of the domains on page one of Google for the targeted keyword have much more age than
mine.
The targeted keyword is my exact domain name, with the .org extension.
My site is only a few months old but I bought the domain on Godaddy Auctions where it had a little
age with it."
Final
Results...
Now for my final review.
My site has settled in at the 5th position on page one of Google. With the strength of the
competition in the 4 top spots, I couldn't have asked for more.
Facts:
Results in Google for broad match - 15,700,000
Results in Google for phrase match - 48,700
Domain age of the top four spots (in years): 11, 6, 10, 5
Domain age of my domain: 1.5 years
Domain age of positions 6-10: 9, 9, 7, 6, 7
In closing, I would definitely recommend this service, and I plan on using it again.
Matt
To give you a better idea of how the above submission and syndication strategies can benefit your
cite, let's look at a simple analogy that I read and I think it will help clear it up just a bit:
The Newspaper Syndication Analogy...
"Submitting articles and videos will get you so far (up the SERPs towards page 1). These tasks are somewhat like
writing ads and publishing them in the local newspaper classifieds. The newspaper might have a circulation of say
100,000 (which roughly equates to say 100,000 readers for simplicity). Okay, that's a start. But you really need
more readers to see you ads.
Ok. It's a strategy. Time consuming, yes, but a strategy non-the-less. ...[We do these tasks for
you]... (the task of placing your ads in the newspapers).... Then [when we do the work of building
the high powered high page rank links back to your site]... you get a good deal further because you are
placing your ads in the top national newspapers now (and not just the local ones). So your ads get more exposure
because their circulation is much larger.
But wait ... there's more ...
RSS feeds (into the aggregators) will get you further because you are leveraging a system known as "syndication".
Continuing with the newspaper analogy above, submitting your list of articles (ads) into the local (or national)
newspaper gets you so many potential readers. But if that newspaper were to pass along all your ads to hundreds of
other newspapers around the globe, then you string of ads (a single RSS feed) suddenly gets seen by millions of
readers globally. The "RSS aggregators" is the system by which your "string of ads" (your RSS feed) is passed along
to hundreds of other newspapers which have agreed to publish your ads (RSS feed) in their newspaper classified
section. Now that's leverage!
Now imagine a system where each newspaper that received your "string of ads" (RSS feed) were themselves an RSS
aggregator too, and passed along (syndicated) your feed to their list of affiliated magazines (who are also RSS
aggregators), and they in turn pass it along to other publishing houses who are also RSS aggregators, etc.
Now you have a real matrix system going on. Your RSS feed is "fed into the matrix of aggregators" and gets passed
around and around. Some of the newspapers are high profile with a large readership who regard the newspaper as "the
source of authorative news" (high PR), while others have a small circulation (low PR). Regardless, when you have
one newspaper stating the source of it's ads below came from another newspaper, you have 2 newspapers linking
themselves together, and both newspapers linking to your ads...."
Now let me ask you...
1. How long have you been in business?
2. What is the biggest struggle or frustration for the business right now?
3. How is the business and sales currently compared to previous years?
4. Where would you like to see the business be within 2 years?
5. How will this be accomplished?
6. What is the current monthly/annual marketing budget to accomplish this?
7. What is business currently doing for advertising/marketing efforts?
